Most websites either get expensive to have built or never get finished. On this full-day course you build your own from scratch with Claude at hand — and you go home with a site that is online.

We start with what the site should do and who will use it. Then we get the first version on screen and work forward in dialogue with Claude: structure, appearance, subpages, and a contact form that actually sends an email.

Along the way you learn just enough HTML and CSS to see what is being built and to ask for changes in the right words. You are not here to learn programming — you are here to control the result.

At the end of the day we put the site online so others can see it, and talk about maintenance: backup, how to ask for changes six months later, and when it is better to bring in a professional.

Programme

30 min

1. What should the site do?

We start with the purpose, not the technology: who visits the site, what should they do, and what decides whether it works. A site without a job is never finished.

35 min

2. The building blocks — in brief

HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript: what each part does, and why that is enough for most sites. You are not here to learn to code — you need to see what Claude builds and ask for changes in the right words.

60 min

3. First version on screen (hands-on)

From a description to a page that works in the browser. We brief Claude properly, get the front page up, and refine it in dialogue — content, structure and the first decisions about how it looks.

50 min

4. Design you can control yourself (hands-on)

Colours, typefaces and spacing gathered in one place, so one change carries through the whole site. Your own look rather than a template — and a site that works on a phone too.

45 min

5. More pages and content you can update (hands-on)

Subpages, a menu and a structure that can grow. Where the text should live so you can edit it yourself afterwards — without asking for help every time.

45 min

6. Contact form and the things that must work (hands-on)

A form that actually sends an email, and the details that decide whether the site is taken seriously: images at sensible sizes, titles and descriptions, a favicon, and a page that loads fast.

45 min

7. Domain, hosting and going live (hands-on)

We put the site online so others can see it. Domain, hosting, file transfer and HTTPS — and what it costs per year. You leave the course with an address you can hand out.

30 min

8. Maintenance — and what you do tomorrow

Backup, how to ask Claude for changes months later, and when to bring in a professional. You go home with the site, the files and a list of what you want to add next.
