Level 1 · Full day
Claude Foundation Course
Claude can write, read, analyse, build workspaces and deliver finished documents — but only if you brief it properly. On this full-day course you learn the craft behind it, and you work on your own tasks the whole way through.
The morning covers the foundation: what Claude is good and bad at, the rules for data and responsibility, and prompting using the KOFM model — Context, Task, Format and Measure.
After lunch you build your own project, so you no longer explain yourself from scratch every time, and move from »answer me« to »finish it« with Cowork: multi-step tasks that work across whole folders and deliver real Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. The day ends with Claude Design, where you create presentations and diagrams from a written description.
Half the time is hands-on. You leave with at least one result you can use straight away, and a concrete plan for the next three tasks you give Claude.
Programme
1. Welcome & the Claude landscape
A mental model for a language model; a map of the whole product family (Chat/Projects/Cowork/Code/Design) and the day's route through it.
2. Getting off to a good start
The interface, choosing a model (Haiku/Sonnet/Opus) and chat vs. file upload.
3. Prompting basics (hands-on)
The KOFM model — Context, Task, Format and Measure — iterative dialogue and exercises using your own tasks.
4. Practical use cases (hands-on)
Write and edit text, summarise documents, analyse PDFs and data, and brainstorm.
5. Build your own Project (hands-on)
Custom instructions, your own documents as a knowledge base, and a project built around a recurring task — so you no longer explain yourself from scratch every time.
6. Artifacts — structured deliverables
The difference between a chat reply and an Artifact; editable documents, tables and overviews that improve step by step.
7. Cowork — from answer to finished work (hands-on)
Multi-step tasks that work across whole folders and deliver real Word, Excel and PowerPoint files; scheduled and repeated tasks, and quality-checking the result.
8. Claude Design — presentations and diagrams (hands-on)
From topic to draft presentation; flowcharts and process diagrams from a written description; when a draft is enough, and when the job should go to a designer.
9. Responsible use & quality control
Spotting errors and hallucinations, source criticism, GDPR and data security — including when Claude is given access to files.
10. Your plan for the next tasks
Participants pick two or three of their own tasks for Projects and Cowork; templates to take home; a pointer to Claude Code for developers.
